They were real lovers once upon a time, they are back together once again, but this time on reel. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are getting all cosy and romantic, on screen in Manali. They are shooting for director Ayaan Mukherjee’s film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. 

Actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin are also with them. If sources are to be believed, the ex lovers are pretty cordial and are bonding well, without any awkwardness between them. One thing that we have to appreciate about Ranbir and Deepika is that despite their relationship issues, they did not let their personal life affect their professional life.

When the actress was approached a few months ago to talk about her dream house, she seemed reluctant. Later her publicist told us that Deepika does not want her home to be written about or photographed.

We respected her decision. So what made Deepika change her mind? Guess the lure of a national magazine cover is hard to resist.

And we don’t really blame her. Now that her career is on shaky ground, she needs all the publicity she can garner. And if that includes exposing her ‘private home’ to prying eyes, why not? Talk about double standards!

Deepika bumps into ex-flame Ranbir

Everybody knows that Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are no longer an item, but people still look with suspicion every time they meet. Recently, they bumped into each other, and it hit the headlines.

It happened on the sets of Kofee With Karan. The Ranbir Kapoor-Imran Khan episode and the Sonam Kapoor-Deepika Padukone episode were shot on the same day. So, it was inevitable for the ex-flames to meet.

Surprisingly, the duo was seen chatting cordially like the way old friends do. They looked comfortable in each other’s company and showed no sign of bitterness.

Well, both Ranbir and Deepika seemed to have moved on after the break up!

Deepika Padukone reveals Tissot watches latest Collection

Mumbai, Oct 13 (IBNS) Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone launched a boutique of swiss watch maker Tissot, at Phoenix Mills here on Wednesday. Brand ambassador Deepika was joined by Francois Thiebaud, President, Tissot , at the opening of the boutique.

BBC Worldwide Productions India readies to put the fourth season of "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa" on air via Sony Entertainment. Jhalak Dikhla Jaa follows the same format as the international program "Dancing with the Stars" (DWTS), which has become a global phenomenon. The Guinness Book of World Records 2010 recently announced that DWTS is officially the world's most successful reality TV format based on format sales, viewing figures and spin-off shows. The format was also named as the most watched entertainment show in the world by trade publication Television Business International.

The DWTS format has notched up:

"Over 30 International TV awards (countless nominations)

"Over 75,000 dances from more than 1,000 celebs (that's over 1,200 miles of Waltz and 3,000 miles of Salsa)

The last season of "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa" which had high popularity ratings, was won by the famous Indian footballer Baichung Bhutia. While chat forums, online sites and the industry grapevine have been filled with speculation about who would be in the next season, BBC Worldwide Productions is already in conversation with stars like Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood. An interesting addition would be political stars who would try their hand at dancing this new season, creating an eclectic mix of participants and judges. This of course has become internationally popular after the Danish Prime Minister's wife took part in series five of the Danish show while Italy's fifth season saw royalty take part for the first time in dancing history when Prince of Venice Emmanuel Filiberto won the series.

Deepika Padukone Launches the Latest Marie Clare Issue. Wow, she looks great. It's such a pleasant change to see her all glammed up.

While the Verve Sep cover had Deepika in an Indian avatar, the Marie Claire Oct one has her more in a western (sort of) bridal avatar with a black Namrata Joshipura sequin jacket and a white flounce floor-length skirt.

I say sort of because of course, we all know it’s all-white when it comes to western wedding although Ms. Padukone looks mighty good in the black and white.

Deepika and Shahid in Heer and Ranjha

Sajid Nadiadwala is glad to have roped in hottie Deepika Padukone along with Shahid Kapur-a casting coup of sorts-for his film Heer and Ranjha, to be directed by Sabir Khan of Kambakht Ishq fame.

Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor were considered for the role but once Shahid signed on the dotted line, Kareena was obviously off the list. Kat reportedly had too much on her plate and excused herself.

Sajid wanted to start shooting the romantic comedy early, so time was of essence. But he sure isn't complaining now!

Deepika padukone dropped from Bodygaurd

Deepika Padukone, who recently said she is keen to co-star with Salman Khan, has missed a chance to do so in Bodyguard.

Bodyguard is being produced by Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri and, according to the Deccan Herald, Atul was prepared to sign up Deepika as female lead opposite Salman, since he felt she would fit the role.

Following a script narration, Deepika was keen to come on board, but scheduling conflicts proved a bummer.

Atul wanted Deepika to commit 30 days in a stretch, something Deepika realized she could not do.

"Deepika couldn't allocate more than 20 days at a stretch. None of the parties could reach a compromise so Deepika had to say no."

Deepika's bad luck, might well become newcomer Sonakshi Sinha's good luck, as Atul now plans to approach her for the role.

Deepika Plays Blind Dancer Role In Lafangey Parindey

Mukherji and Kajol, being the blind ladies of Bollywood, its time for Deepika to prove her mettle in the blind act. In her upcoming flick, she plays the role of blind girl.

In Lafangey Parindey, she has been paired with Neil Nitin Mukesh.

Deepika, plays the role of a Ghati girl,Pinky Palkar who is blind. She attributes the naturalness of the character to her maid, from whom she picked up the acute details of the usual Ghati women.

Though, the role demanded strenuous physical toil but thanks to her atheletic streak, she didn’t have too many problems in this new lifestyle. Deepika closely watched and observed and did an extensive research on the behavior of visually handicapped to get to the tee of the role. She had a tough time to do this role as she was not supposed to wear black glasses or take a stick to add to her blindness.

As the director of the movie puts it, her character was supposed to see the practicality of life even with her blindness.

Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the role of Nandu or “one shot nandlal” who is a blind fold wrestler. Though, Deepika was a bit skeptical about his casting but soon was surprised by his performance. Hope that the hype created is worth a watch!

Lafangey Parindey is a film directed by Pradeep Sarkar, produced by Aditya Chopra and starring Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles.

Reportedly, the film is about bike gangs in Mumbai. Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the character of One Shot Nandu, a fighter who pummels his opponents in the ring blindfolded. Deepika Padukone plays Pinky Palkar, a dancer who is blind but ambitious and dances with roller skates on her feet. He teaches her to see and she teaches him how to love. But what price will they have to pay for their love?

The film is set to release on 20 August 2010 under the Yash Raj Films banner.

Deepika Padukone Trashes Boys with a broom

While shooting for director Pradeep Sarkar’s film Lafangey Parindey, a scene demanded Deepika Padukone, who plays a foul-mouthed blind girl, to whack co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh and his friends with a broom. But the actress hit them very delicately.

That’s when director Pradeep Sarkar jumped in for a demo. He held the broom and showed Deepika how she was supposed to beat up the boys. While the boys ended up with bruised bums, Deepika could hardly control her giggles.

Sarkar then called for the retake, and now our babe knew what she had to do. She not only whacked the boys’ hard on their butts but also threw a pail of water on them.

Hahhaha… Wonder what the boys must have gone through.
