Deepika Padukone photoshoot at Peru for Vogue Magazine
Deepika Padukone is currently in Lima, Peru shooting for Vogue's Latin-American edition as well as for Cosas. Yesterday she shot at the Presidential Palace and Inca ruins with celebrity photographer Mariana Garcia Burgos. She is the first Indian actress who will be the cover girl for these magazines. In the night, she attended the Fashion Week Peruvian Moda as the guest of honor at the invitation of Ms Mercedes Araos, Peruvian Minister for Tourism and Commerce.
Deepika memorised a few lines in Spanish, which she recited at the event, and had the crowds applauding and whistling for her. Deepika says, "I always read up on any new place I travel to and familarise myself with a few words and the history about the place and the people. I love languages. I learnt French in college and picked up a few Spanish words after coming here and used them in my speech."
The actress was put up in the Presidential Suite of the Miraflores Park Hotel which has a pool on the deck and an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. The room (number 1002) Deepika was staying in, was formerly occupied by Bill Clinton, the Prime Ministers of Malaysia, New Zealand and Spain, rock group Duran Duran and by Tommy Hilfiger's family She gushes, "It's my first time to South America. The people very warm and hospitable."
